Do you know the Dabrowski Dogs?

On Friday 18 November I presented on one of Jo Hart’s Edublogs Fine Focus webinars on the topic of Dabrowski’s Overexcitabilities using Blackboard Collaborate interactive whiteboard with microphone and text chat. Jo Hart gave me a practice session and then moderated and assisted me with the webinar; so that the experience was a great deal of fun and not nearly as scary as I thought it would be!

Jo’s write up overview of the webinar which gives a link to the recording made during the webinar can be found on her E-verything blog at http://johart1.edublogs.org/2011/11/19/edublogs-webinar-overview-do-you-know-dabrowskis-dogs/

Dalkey Dog Around Town

The Twitter Birds were very quick to bring news to Sprite and the Dabrowski Dogs of a new Dogblog by Dalkey Dog Around Town, Megan the Newshound, and her brilliant assistant Leslie Graves at http://dalkeydogaroundtown-giftedblogger.blogspot.com/
While PsychoMotor chased the Twitter Bird news couriers and Sensual scratched his head, Emotional expressed delight about the work Megan is performing, Intellectual appreciated all the information about the castles,  trams,  art galleries and craft markets of Dalkey and Imaginational imagined what it would be like to visit Dalkey and then imagined himself as a Space Cadet Reporter.

The daylight savings clock dance – Part 2

Times for #gtchat will change again this week as the U.S. EST (New York) goes off Daylight Savings Time.

I consulted time and date.com http://www.timeanddate.com/ and read about daylight saving at http://www.timeanddate.com/time/dst/ and put the times into their meeting planner at http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meeting.html

If my calculations are correct the #gtchat sessions which take place at noon and 7.00pm Friday US EST (NewYork) will now be at 4.00am and 11.00 am Saturday for participants in Melbourne and Sydney.
Serendipity and Fine Focus Webinars will still be at 10.00am Friday as they are linked to GMT time.

The November Road is paved with good intentions!

Last November I wrote:

NOVEMBER That crazy penultimate month of the year when men grow moustaches http://www.movember.com/ authors endeavour to write a whole novel in the month http://www.nanowrimo.org/ and Americans celebrate Thanksgiving.
For Australians a horse race, the Melbourne Cup stops the Nation on the first Tuesday of the month and ladies wear fancy hats and fascinators.
Sprite was eager for me to participate in Nanowrimo and write her biography but the task seemed a bit daunting so I am opting to attempt to write a blog post every day in November with NaBloPoMo http://www.nablopomo.com/

This year
My older son is undertaking to grow a  Movember moustache http://au.movember.com/
The first Tuesday of the month with the Melbourne Cup fell on Tuesday 1st November and I missed adorning the female Twitter Birds with hats and fascinators for the occasion but the male Twitter Birds will again grow Movember moustaches. Indeed some of them have retained the ones they grew last year.
I have not even considered writing a NaNoWriMo novel or even promising to write a Blog post every day. But Sprite overheard the discussion on #gtchat about NaNoWriMo Young Writers’ Program and would like to try it – but only if she can dictate it to me and I do the writing for her.

In November I usually provide an activity report for the year for Gifted Resources and write a Christmas program for the Church Sunday school.
This year we are already three days into November and I really do not know how many November intentions I will be able to complete!
